The Rum Diary

Tired of the noise and madness of New York and the crushing conventions of late Eisenhower-era America, itinerant journalist Paul Kemp travels to the pristine island of Puerto Rico to write for a local San Juan newspaper run by the downtrodden editor Lotterman. Adopting the rum-soaked lifestyle of the late ‘50s version of Hemingway’s “The Lost Generation,” Paul soon becomes entangled with a very attractive American woman, Chenaults and her fiancée Sanderson, a businessman involved in shady property development deals.  It is within this world that Kemp ultimately discovers his true voice as a writer and integrity as a man.

The Rum Diary 123Movies review

The Rum Diary in just 120 min minutes took me into an incredible story that left a pleasant aftertaste and stunned with an unexpected final episode. The talented acting of the actors, excellent directorial work, a well-thought-out plot - all this made the film an outstanding representative of the Comedy, Drama genre. In 2011, some really decent films came out, but this one was remembered for the talented acting and the incredibly confusing storyline.

I admire this directorial work of Bruce Robinson, he conducted the main storyline so subtly that the ending, although unexpected, was quite logical. The movie The Rum Diary 123movies brought together my most beloved and respected Aaron Eckhart, Aaron Lustig, Amaury Nolasco, Amber Heard, Bill Smitrovich, Creed Bratton, Enzo Cilenti, Giovanni Ribisi, Jimmy Ortega, Johnny Depp, Julian Holloway, Marshall Bell, Michael Rispoli, Richard Jenkins, so I just could not pass by this amazing and interesting film story.
